We bring hands-on experience with accounting applications and the IT environments that support them.

Tax & accounting applications

  • Thomson Reuters tax and accounting software, including UltraTax CS and applications within the CS Professional Suite
  • QuickBooks
  • Sage accounting software, including Sage 50

Infrastructure & performance

  • Windows servers and virtualization
  • Remote desktop environments
  • Accounting application performance and networking issues

  • Secure collaboration

Look beyond the application.

A slow application or recurring sign-in problem may originate in networking, storage, server performance, authentication, or security configuration. We troubleshoot the supporting IT infrastructure and coordinate with software support where needed. Tax calculations, accounting decisions, and the software's tax or accounting functions remain with your team and the application provider.

WISP & REGULATORY READINESS

Protecting Taxpayer Information Is More Than an IT Concern

Protecting client information calls for people, policies, and technology working together. IRS Publication 4557, Safeguarding Taxpayer Data, outlines practical security steps for tax professionals and directs firms to written security planning guidance.

The FTC Safeguards Rule includes tax preparation firms among the businesses it covers. Covered firms must develop, implement, and maintain a written information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. Requirements depend on a firm's activities and circumstances; limited exceptions to certain provisions do not remove the overall security-program obligation.

A Written Information Security Plan (WISP) should reflect how your firm actually protects information, assigns responsibilities, and reviews its safeguards. Computer Innovations draws on decades of leadership experience in information security and regulated business environments to help strengthen the technology supporting that program.

We provide technology assessment and support, not legal advice or regulatory certification. Your firm remains responsible for determining its obligations and maintaining its security program.
